The reason was that the inferior socket caused short circuit and electric leakage, causing people to be electrocuted.

In the second quarter of this year, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine conducted a supervision and inspection on the quality of household and similar plugs and sockets (including converters). A total of 132 kinds of plug and socket products produced by 132 enterprises in 6 provinces and municipalities directly under the Central Government such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Sichuan were qualified, and the sampling rate of products was only 59.8%. During the inspection, many plugs and sockets sold in the market were found. There was no factory name, factory address, no trademark, no safety certification, etc. There were serious safety hazards.

In this regard, remind consumers to pay attention to when purchasing plugs and sockets:

1. Go to large shopping malls and supermarkets to buy well-known brands;

2. It should be checked whether the logo on the plug and socket is complete, including whether the company name, specification model, rated current value, power supply property symbol and related warning words;

3. The power should be selected according to the power of the appliance. In addition, the two household appliances with higher power should not be plugged into the same socket;

4. After the plug is inserted into the socket, it should be in good contact, no loose feeling, and it should not be pulled out too hard.

When using the plug and socket, do not plug the high-powered household appliances into the socket with the rated current value; when the plug does not correspond to the size and size of the wall socket, do not manually change the plug size or shape; the power cord or plug is damaged. When it needs to be replaced, it should be replaced by a professional. If the socket is overheated or arcing or sparking, the plug and socket are not in good contact, and the plug is too loose or too tight, stop using it and replace it.
